              On April 23, 2021, the “Witness and Technical Seminar on High-Energy and Strong-Arc True Discharge Test and Pressure Leak Test for Fuel Tanks and Components of National Grid UHV Transformer Equipment” was successfully held at EETI.

              Professionals from China Machinery Industry Federation, State Grid UHV Department, State Grid Economic Research Institute, China Electric Power Research Institute, Tsinghua University, China Three Gorges University, Beijing Institute of Technology, EETI, Shandong Electric Power Engineering Consulting Institute, Xi’an XD Transformer Co., Ltd., Changzhou XD Transformer Co., Ltd., TBEA Shenyang Transformer Co., Ltd., TBEA Hengyang Transformer Co., Ltd., Baoding Tianwei Baobian Electric Co., Ltd., Siemens Guangzhou, as well as specially invited experts attended the seminar and witnessed the field test.

              In this test, valuable data such as test current, arc voltage, short circuit time, arc energy, sample temperature and internal pressure were obtained by high-precision and high-rate measurement instruments, which can provide data support for short-circuit and explosion-proof design of the converter transformer. The test results showed that the pressure relief devices installed in the arc occurrence area can effectively discharge energy, to prevent burning and explosion incidents. The explosion-proof membrane was proved to have a faster pressure relief effect.

              The successful completion of this test indicated the continuous improvement of the comprehensive scientific research and testing capabilities of our institute, which can enable us to provide a wider range of technical services for the customers, and also support the improvement of the quality of power transmission and transformation products in China.
